Tour 1: Classic Wineland Tour; including visits to Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek
The Classic Winelands Tour includes a visit to Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. Enjoy a walkabout through historic Stellenbosch, stroll in quaint Dorp Street with its Cape Dutch architecture, visit the Village Museum and enjoy an informative wine tasting on a Stellenbosch estate. Here, in the second oldest town in South Africa, you get the opportunity to explore numerous historical buildings in typical Cape Dutch style, or to visit the Dutch Reformed Church and the ancient Dorp Street, rich in history and culture. A visit to the Village Museum will transport you back to the 18th century. As one of the main attractions, it has a complex of four adjacent historical dwellings from different time periods!
After this cultural journey we will continue towards Franschhoek, South Africa's culinary capital. In Franschhoek, we get to see the Huguenot Memorial, browse in many art studios and chic boutiques, enjoy a delicious lunch (own account) - after all, Franschhoek is the gourmet capital of South Africa! – And savour a champagne tasting in a Franschhoek Vineyard.
Finally, the tour takes us to Paarl, to end up the Classic Wineland trip with a wine- and accomplished cheese-tasting. Because as we all know: Cheese rounds off a meal nicely! Paarl, fondly referred to as the "Pearl of the Western Cape" is home to a rich tradition of wine making and known for producing some of the best red wines in the world. Let's taste them!
